Creating and Funding an Ethereum Wallet

 

In order to receive and hold the Marfa Token, you must have a digital wallet.

 

Metamask is a free, popular, and user-friendly wallet. It can be installed as a browser extension on Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Edge, and as an app on IPhone or Android devices. 

 

Visit Metamask.io to get Metamask. Once you’ve installed Metamask, click on “Get Started” and follow the prompts to create a new wallet. 

 

Metamask will generate a secret recovery phrase. The secret recovery phrase provided by MetaMask is the only way to restore your wallet if it crashes or malfunctions.  Write down the phrase by hand on paper and do not record it in any digital form whatsoever (including a photograph). Write out another paper copy by hand and keep the two paper copies in two separate secure locations.  

 

A WORD TO THE WISE: The only purpose of your secret recovery phrase is to restore your MetaMask wallet, if necessary.  Never reveal your phrase to anyone.  Someone who acquires the phrase can duplicate your wallet and steal everything in it.  Any email, website, app, or message that asks you to type in your secret recovery phrase is a scam!
